The world of diving opens up a completely new fascinating world and the best way to capture your memories is by taking photographs. The Digital Underwater Photography specialty course teaches you about the equipment required, how to take care of equipment, the special considerations about taking photographs underwater and which settings on your camera will take the best shots.
Being able to take good underwater pictures enables you to take photographs that can be used to aid worldwide research. For example taking the correct photo when you spot a Whale Shark allows you to upload the images to an international database used to monitor these beautiful giants.
What do I need to start?
You have to already have completed the Open Water Diver Course with either SSI or PADI. Big Blue provides all equipment, boat trips, etc., for the duration of the course.

How long will it take?
The course takes one day to complete and includes 2 dives and all equipment, including underwater digital camera.
Day before course starts you’ll be given a text book to read through
- 10am - 12pm: You'll meet with your Instructor & learn the theory behind the Digital Underwater Photography Course.
- 1pm - 5.30pm: We get underwater and start taking some pictures!
- 6pm - 7pm: Finally there is a multiple choice exam and then you will receive your qualification!
